Also check the shift tower, to shift fork interface for ovaling/damage as well.

Ohh, this is your new trans!! Lol, no carnage!

You really need to inspect the shifter hubs teeth, and each gears shifter hub engagement teeth, beyond the synchros.

These parts get beat up, and would need to get replaced if not symetrical points, and sharp-ish

That machining is normal. No worries there.

This is the spare trans that I grabbed in Ohio.

I'm gonna make you wait to see the carnage.

Edit: just slid in right after you. Lol

I'll definitely make sure to do that when the synchros get here. I'm leaving the stacks assembled until then to minimize any possible gear movement
(someone flipping one without telling me)

Ok, inspected them all closely. Looks like they all look good with the exception of 3rd gears hub engagement teeth.
I'll be letting my parts guy know tomorrow to see if he can get ahold of that for me.

That's what every other gear looks like. No need to post all the photos.


Speaking of parts guy, all the bearings and such are ordered.
Still undecided on the shims, they're about 10$ish a piece.

Still researching differences between RS and ST clutch stuff but it's only a 70$ difference, the RS is more expensive.
Might be worth it for the metal parts the RS has in place of the STs plastic.

Ok, having some difficulty finding the part number for the hub engagement teeth.
Also, I'm pretty sure I was wrong. It's actually 2nd gear.

Ok. I guess I'll attempt to source 2nd gear. That is 2nd correct?
Yisssss second.

If you cant get a freshie, I may have a used one thats better.

If that gear is fuxxed, odds are the shifter hub has damage too.

just buy it from jacks transmissions and accept the cost. dont buy off ebay for the love of god

Quick update. Ended up getting a set of gear stacks with synchrotech carbon synchros and new bearings already installed. All other parts, seals, bearings are here. LSD is on backorder, expected delivery at the end of December.

Anyone want a set of gear stacks? Lol

Well dang. I'm halfway tempted to stick the gearstacks in at this point.
The estimated delivery date was the end of this week.
