How often do you guys check your air pressure? Once a week? I've ordered a nice pressure gauge from Amazon so I don't have to depend on the crappy one at the gas station.

Good move Scrum. Tire pressure should be regularly monitored, and with a quality tool; not a gas station gauge. I check mine once a week, or if there's a big swing in the weather, I always adjust the pressure. I recommend ditching the spare and carrying a light weight compressor and a plug kit. A five horsepower bump for 30 bucks. JP

most "performance" cars come with a tube of slime and a plug kit instead of a spare.

I had to replace mine in my SRT a couple times
Use canned aerosol tire repair products with caution. They can mess with your TPMS sensors, and many tire shops will add a pretty steep fee for cleaning up the mess. Additionally, they can make an inconspicuous leak very difficult for the shop to locate when they put the tire in the tank. JP

Which plug kit would you recommend?
Mac, I use the NAPA plug kit. It comes with a reamer and a plug insert tool, both of which have a nice large T-handle the gives you the grip and leverage you need to get the job done. JP

Question re: TMPS. Will too much psi set the TMPS warning off, of just too lo pressure?
That's a good question. What I can say is, if there is a high limit, it must be REALLY high. JP

Edit: Now that I think about it, I saw a YouTube vid where the Torque Pro app showed you each individual tire's pressure. JP

I think i experienced heat soak in the car and just wanted to be sure. I never really understood what the issue was with heat soak but i can see how dangerous it can be. I was driving in traffic with the ac on for like an hour. My lane was at a standstill and i had a window of opportunity to switch lanes and head for an exit. In first gear I gunned it but no response from the car it kind of rolled into the other lane lagged a bit then finally took off. The car in the other lane almost hit me because i just literally had no speed. I have experienced this a few times before but not as bad. So is this heat soak?? If so i will def look into an fmic. I currently have the frpp power package and fswerks turbo inlet.
That's a pretty extreme example if it was all due to "heat soak". First we need to make a distinction. Usually, when talking about heat soak, guys are referring to a heat soaked IC. And usually they're talking about a stock IC. It's a situation in which the IC has reached equilibrium temperature and cannot cool the air charge to any greater extent. Ordinarily this occurs when you've been under boost for some time, and varies with the ambient temps, among other things. Simply sitting in traffic on a hot day is not likely to push the IC to it's limit.

There's another kind of 'heat soak' that simply makes reference to the overall engine temps. But, what you describe seems to be more than either type of heat soak mentioned. Your car should not lose power to the extent you described. The car's ECU can dial back power to what's called "limp mode" should it detect a potentially dangerous set of circumstances. It almost sounds like what you experienced. I haven't experienced limp mode, but I assume it would throw a code. Perhaps one of our tuner's or engineers could give you some advice. Something besides, or in addition to, "heat soak" seems to be at issue here. JP
