So yesterday while out and about my A/C decided to stop working. Just blows hot air now. Anyone else had an issue like this with their ST? Car only has 20k on it nothing really done to the motor.

Yeah. Mine did that too once. Just up a quit working after a car wash. I turned the car off opened the door let everything go to sleep. Cycled all of the controls and it started working again. I have an ST1 though so I have manual climate controls. I don't know if it will work in a 2or3 but it's worth a shot

It's a single zone electronic manual climate control system in the ST1 and base Focus series with the manual knobs actually moving potentiometers to command the electronics to request the actuators move the air around which is only slightly less complex as the dual zone electronic climate control in the ST 2-3.

Can try disconnecting the battery? It was working when i parked the car n went in the store. But not when i came out n started the car. Made a couple noises to when i started it. Dunno how to describe it. Like a breaking bolt type of clink.

Thought id finally update this....so as i was installing my intercooler i noticed the plug was lifted up on the A/C compressor and also realised a burnt part # tag....so props to ford for putting a part # tag in the path of the belt. Good thing it just lifted up and wasnt broken off.

Hey I have been in contact with a Ford CSR and still getting nowhere. Going to the dealer tomorrow to install a recorder to see if they can pull a code. Very frustrating.
Hey STdave,

Shoot me a PM with the previously requested info, and I'll gladly look into this.

Goodluck. Mine has never worked very well. The air speed fluctuates alot too as if a gust of wind comes through. Like a power surge. Gets cool...not cold. Some had said something about a motor fan causing the issue. Remember too this car is suppose to cut out A/C when there is any kind of boost detected. So if your on it alot it never gets a chance to get cold.

But i fell ya! My A/C sucks monkey nuts. Its an absolutely horrible system.

Hey Ryan2289,

Are you still experiencing issues with your air conditioning? If so, shoot me a PM with your name, VIN, mileage, dealer, and best daytime phone number; I'll take a look and see how I can help.

Its been an issue since day 1. Its just a cruddy system. Nothing will fix it. Thats just the way it is.

I have had nothing but AC problems with my 2013 ST3 for past couple months. It has been in shop at least 5 - 6 times now and they just keep replacing parts and there is no fix. Mine started with blowing warmer on pass side, and then going from freezing cold to warm humid air while driving. Now sometimes the AC blows warm right off the get go. Atlas once a week I drive home (32 miles) with AC never reaching below 70 degrees. So frustrating as i live in Florida.

Finally got around to dropping my car off to get this checked out. I'd just like to say that I hate dealing with car dealerships -.-
Dropped it off last night at Fred Beans Ford of West Chester for a service appointment that I scheduled last week. Explained to them that my car was lowered and the service rep on the phone said that wouldn't be an issue for the A/C work to be done - Spoke with a mechanic (I guess?) on the phone this morning and he explained that the other work I wanted done (checking rear suspension components / alignment) wasn't possible because they couldn't get the car onto a lift... I reluctantly said that's fine as long as the A/C issue could be assessed - he said that shouldn't be a problem and they would look at it.
I waited all day for a call. At 4:30 PM (time left by me for preferred pickup) I got a call from the dealership and was informed again that they couldn't get the car onto a lift and the only thing they could 'think of' as being an issue was something they would have to get underneath the car to look at... Then the rep made sure to follow it up with a 'so we can't work on this car' - as if I didn't get the memo the first time.

Forgive me for being annoyed here. My car is pretty low... But I'm not "slammed" by any means... And the fact that they waited all day until it was around the time I would be picking up the car just to tell me that they couldn't do anything to it doesn't sit well with me.
I can go over speed bumps straight on without scraping - which means you should be able to put a ****ing pair of 2x4's down and drive it onto a god damn lift. I understand that my car is modified and I only have so much room to complain about a car dealership being able to work on it... It's just rather annoying the way that it was handled and the fact that now, in order to find out what my issue is and have it repaired, I am going to have to take it to a shop who is willing to put down two pieces of wood in order to put it up on a lift and have it checked out.
@FordService - Not even sure if there's anything you can do here. Figured a tag was appropriate though.

Thats just pure laziness....and sounds like a "we have no clue whats wrong or what to do. ..soooooooo...its the lifts fault."

Sounds like an excuse to me.....and $600 to replace a hose and charge it........does the intake even touch or go near an ac hose?
