So my new Steeda FMIC has a cracked tab. I've enclosed a couple of pics so you can see what I'm referring to. I'm having an issue finding anyone who can/will weld/braze aluminum. I tried Alumiweld with my propane torch, but I can't get it hot enough to make it flow. MAPP-Pro is only marginally hotter, so I'm not going to drop $50 on a torch & tank. I really want to get this back up and running again, and I don't want to put it all back to stock, just to tear it apart again. I heard one individual claim those are only guide tabs, and they're not load/weight bearing. I'm sceptical about that. If it is true, could I just cold-weld it for peace of mind? What is the consensus?
