Lmfao. So how do people utilize e85? Is it just a tune, or do you need to change parts?

 

How bout 100 octane?

 

Most around here run 3 or 4 gallons of E85 mixed with 93 and then tune for it. Im interested in doin the same when I finally get a front mount intercooler to replace the stocker.

100 octane is no problem. Add as much or as little as you want. It will run awesome.

 

Have you done any tunes using vp ms103 or 109 fuel??
I bet the st would scoot with a good tune on that kind of fuel.

You can run 100 octane and no changes are NEEDED. The car will run better since the calibration is dynamic. Having said that, to take full advantage of 100 octane you'd usually want a purpose built program created. I'd give it a shot, though. Try a few gallons, see how you like it!

 

You can add higher octane fuel such as E85 and the tune will run as much timing as allowed. However to get the full benefits of an E85 blend you want the tune adjusted for this.

 

SO, is there some sort of a chart somewhere that tells you how much e85 you have to mix with 89,91,or 93 octane to get e30 ??

 

This all depends on the ethanol content of the fuel. I have attached a good reference chart put together by one of our MS3 guys.

However remember that the octane is what you're after. 87 octane fuel with 10% ethanol is going to have lower overall octane than 93 octane fuel with 10% ethanol.

I like to be cautious so advise to use the highest octane pump fuel available and as little E85 as necessary to reach your goals. With the US FST tank size, adding 3 gallons of E85 to an otherwise premium tank of fuel is good enough to reach MBT even on 91 fuel from California. If you are using E10 gasoline this is right around the E30 final result.

 

Okay that's awesome because some gas stations here have 93 octane, But usually the gas stations that have e85 will only have 91 octane to mix with.

 

Right, the car will run great. Even just bringing it up to 94 octane feels awesome compared to 91 octane.

 

That's what i did, added enough 98 to bring it to 94octane, car trapped 99.92 in the 1/4 with only mod a green filter

Damn, that moment when you're all excited to go get a full tank of 100 and you get in to find out it already has a full tank. I RARELY drive my ST, have had it for a year and only have 3500 miles LOL.

 

How about going e15 add like half gallon maybe, coz we can run e0 to e15 right?

 

People have been running up to E30 with no reported problems so far. I will be running E30 here shortly too.

 

I drove a good hour pretty hard with 5 gallons of 100, didn't notice any change whatsoever. Wow at the price of 100.

 

Were you tuned for 100 octane ?

 

E30 out of the pump is supposed to be 95 octane which is the same as the 9/3 method with 91 octane. Takes the guess work out of the mix imo.

do a kam reset or pull the neg cable off the battery with the lights on, I did that with the splash of 98 and it woke the car up a bit

I said holy moly mostacciolli guacamole, didn't I? LOL. But yeah definitely. I took my wife for a ride and it pulled harder than how it pulls when I'm driving alone. I can tell a difference when I have a passenger and it felt awesome, even with her in it.
