ive been wondering this for a while and tryed searching all the AGS thread but couldnt find an anser, so my question is in two parts

1) Can you remove the Active Grill Shutter on the ST without removing the actual stock intercooler (if you check levels performance video for their intercooler install, they seem to have removed the AGS before removing the indercooler, but looking at mine I cant figure out how its remotly possible, so an answer as if its possible or not (and how to do it) would be appreciated

2) how does you remove the motor for the AGS assembly, because I wanna remove mine and plan on just keeping the motor plugged in to not throw any check engine codes

1) Nope, it can't slide down with removing the stock ic and it cant slide up because it hits the bumper support.

2) the plastic shutter assembly has a wire on it that connects to a harness next to the hot charge pipe. I'm not sure it if will throw a code, I disabled it through ATR.

It will not illuminate the MIL light or check engine. It will store a code U0284 in the ECU saying that "Lost Communication With Active Grille Air Shutter Module "A"

I removed mine. The bumper was removed to paint the lower middle lip black so while the painter was painting I decided to rip out the grills one by one. I found out though that the middle grill fin is the one that is attach to the motor and holds everything in place. So I zipped tied the motor with a heavy duty zip tie to the middle plastic bar and kept it plugged in. The computer thinks its doing its job so no engine codes. It made a big difference IMO.

Unplugging the AGS will throw the code U0284, but not a dash light. I didnt realize I had the code thrown until I attached a reader.

Checked it with my SCT and it showed no codes... what am I doing wrong? :)

The dealer will see the codes. AP or SCT will not show it.

Ive never seen my shutters closed. Under what conditions would they close? With the car off?

I believe they are closed during cold startup to get the engine warmed up.
