I really like the premium 5 spokes. 😊😁😎

A Subaru would be about the last thing I'd think of to get wheels from. 😳

But then it's hard to argue with free sometimes.🤷

Do what YOU like and enjoy it👍

@STallion18 I would never in a million years run a crucial component like this from AliExpress.

The ISC spacers come from Taiwan but the company itself is stateside and likely has certain manufacturing requirements. There's a business reputation to uphold and probably don't want a lawsuit.

I've personally bought from US wheel adapters, they make all their stuff in Texas.

Truth? I'm not a fan.
But I'm weird. My ST came with premiums and I had the dealer swap them for snowflakes before i'd sign. I dunno, it's just what the car is supposed to look like in my eye

Taiwan was one of the first Asian countries to start manufacturing for American companies back in the 60s. As such they got all sorts of American machines and training on proper techniques. Ever since they've been a step ahead on most things coming out of Asia.

All my good hand tools are either Taiwan, German or American. My Taiwanese hand tools have been through hell and still are going strong.

Anyways, that's a long way to just say that if it's made in Taiwan, and especially if it's an American design I wouldn't worry about it.

Ali express and all the other Chinese copy shops like them are just selling clones of other people's designs but with pot metal and shortcuts taken. I'd never use them for anything important.

I dont think i would trust 15mm spacer from any brand... just seems like a very small piece of metal being used to hold my wheels on, especially with the nuts having to sit flush in the adaptor.

@Sky3406 i do like the look of the wheels and think they would look nice on the focus (and really mess with the subbie guys when they see them lol.) Just really make sure you install them properly and torque everything to spec... then after like 30miles, check them again.

I just dont want this to happen to you or anyone else:

the wheels/tires should fit just fine. Look at the couple of pics i have in my signature. I have run 18x8.5 ~et40 with 255.35... so roughly the same offset, just a bit taller tire combo with the 245.40's

This happened here on the 118 freeway.
I personally like the factory premium wheels on the ST, would not swap them for Subaru wheels. But then, I respect the fact that this is a highly subjective aesthetic choice. Bottom line: You do you.
Anyone know if I might have to cut my studs?
Anyone know if I might have to cut my studs?
What does the back of the face of the Subbie wheels look like? Is it solid or does it have reliefs cut? This might be one of the things where you have to test fit and be the Guinea pig. Just have to commit.

To make you feel better, see this thread on spacers, there are people running 15mm spacers with the studs:

You shouldn't have to trim studs. Whatever amount of stud sticks out past the spacer should nestle nicely into the pockets of that hub flange.

Why not sell the subbie wheels complete with tires, and buy some wheels you want and are made for your bolt pattern? Consider all of your options, not just wheel spacers. The only reason to use the subbie wheels is because you really want to use them. And if that's the case, go for it.

Those relief cuts look safe, just be weary that you might have to go to a hardware store to get slightly shorter acorns if the relief cut isn't wide enough. To test you can take the wheel off the car and put the acorns on the spacer its self then sit the spacer on the back of the wheel. From there make sure the spacer is flush against back of the wheel and that the nuts clear the space well.

I've gone from running 15mm to 25mm to 20mm and back to 15mm. I've even baconed my rears chasing a slammed poked look T.T, def not worth it but I learned a lot about fitment, functionality and compromise lol. I'll be learning a bit more about bodywork as I fix these damn fenders lol (my wheels are ESR CS15's, 18x9.5 +35 quite a bit more aggressive, but i'm going widebody in the near future so it'll work out with the wider stance)

15mm is the safest with the ride height and how much your wheel will poke with the new offset as well. As long as that tire sits behind that inner lip in your fender wells you should be solid.

Few quick tips:
  • Hub-centric spacers only for safety and peace of mind
  • A lil Anti-seize where the spacer mates against the hub of the brake rotor, your future self will thank you when its time to replace brake rotors.
  • I like to put some red loctite on the bolts that will hold the spacer to the rotor face. Peace of mind once again.
  • Torque those nuts on the spacer to rotor down same as you would your normal wheel lug nuts ~90+ ft/lbs torque
    • When you torque down your wheels if you're finding that you're following the star patterrn and you're getting a lot of give each time you go around, chances are your acorn nut is cutting into that wheel relief cut on the backside. Stop, pull it off, check for marks in the relief cut area and make a decision on getting some slightly shorter nuts or having someone trim out the relief cuts a tad more to fit the acorns
  • Set up a camera or have a friend roughly push down on the trunk and the front of the car to double check you are clearing the fender lip.

If you cover these as you go you should be good

Good luck!

I think I’m one of the few running Volvo wheels. Also almost all Volvo wheels are BBS and forged aluminum.
