I have a 2016 Focus ST2 with the HID's and I am dissapointed with the light distribution. My 2001 Audi S4 had better headlights. I found diode dynamics has an HID conversion kit for the ST, but do I really need that? I am under the assumption that the ST2 headlights are HID. Can I just pop in Phillips H1 and H11 bulbs? Or do I need to upgrade the ballast?

I just want better lighting.

Any info will help. I searched existing threads and could not find an answer to my question.

Thanks!!

I'm conflicted and slightly confused, do you have HIDs? lol

Edit: Which do you have:
1: NOTICE THE PROJECTOR HOUSING

Or 2: NOTICE THE REFLECTOR HOUSING

I have projector housing. Sorry, i literally know nothing about lighting or electricity. Unfortunately civil engineering stays clear of that area. haha but I believe the H1 and H11 bulbs are for the reflector housing?

I found https://www.amazon.com/Xenon-Headli...n_feature_keywords_browse-bin:2910435011&th=1 on amazon which seem similar to what I need

Get a pair of D3S Osram CBI bulbs. One of the best bulbs on the market.

The projector lenses in the OEM lights aren't the best though. You could probably replace them, but that would require pulling apart the whole light assembly. And the lights are stupidly expensive to replace, so taking them apart is risky.
