I'm installing an aftermarket heating kit that comes with all the elements, wiring, relay's, and switches. The element pads have the thermal breakers within them.
All I need to do is give it a single 12V+/-.
I've done these before on other cars, so I'm pretty familiar with installing these along with things like leather seat covers from katzkinz and leatherseats.com.
Aftermarket heating kits can be found on amazon or ebay for about $40-200. One should NOT have to spend more than $80 ever for two seats. Most of them are all made by the same chinese places, just under different names/branding.
That said, I figured it out; that my body harness on the passenger side had two heavier gauge wires that were not on the seat harness. They went live with the car ignition on. Bam, power! brown was (+) and there was a black/purple ground.
Driver side was similar, though three wires on the body harness and none on the seat side. same purple/black wire for ground. And I think it was a white/orange wire for (+) Basically the (+) wire was in the same harness port/slot as the passenger side.
I now have heated seats in my 2015 ST2. I used this thread for reference,
http://www.focusst.org/forum/focus-st-electronics/1007-seats-add-heat.html but it doesn't cover newer models wiring specifically...
Since the center console had to come out to install the switches, I also installed the euro cup holder too while I was at it.
