Does any one have a link to a video or step by step for removing the console in a 2016 ST? Only ones I can find are the 13 and 14 models which have slight differences. Just trying not to break anything.

But really..
(Copied from elsewhere)

Step 1 : Remove shift knob, shift boot, and reverse lock out. To do this unscrew shiftknob counter clockwise, push the edges of shift boot together to release it from the clips start at the bottom as its easier, Then pull shift boot up along with the reverse lockout.

Step 2 : Remove the U-shaped piece surrounding the shifter. To do you must pull up or use plastic pry to lift the bottom left hand corner and work your way up the left side, yes the clips are extremely difficult to release but don't be afraid to use force. Once the left side is popped off start going up the right side. The last clip at the top of the ride side is horizontal so pulling back the the rest will not work.

Step 3 : Removal of the Air Bag light and retainer. Pull or pry downward on the airbag light right above the hvac controls. It feels like you are going to break it but you have to use force as every plastic clip is made to hold back the Hulk. Once light is removed and unplugged. Insert your pry tool into the crack between your radio and the piece the airbag light attaches to, this piece to rather super difficult to remove. Dont worry your almost there.

Step 4 : Removal of shifter trim and hvac controls.
Once you get the piece off that retains the airbag light you will now have all the screws exposed. Take out the three screws to remove the whole unit. Once screws are out lift upwards. You can disconnect the electrical plugs but not necessary. Once you have pulled the unit off you now have access to remove your shifter assembly.

Step 5 : Remove the shift cables by prying them off of the shifter assembly, a simple flat head can be used to achieve this. Once removed pull the cable towards you and pull the cable out of the c clamps holding them onto the shifter assembly. Them remove the four 8mm bolts holding the shifter assembly in and your done.

Take a look at this aswell.

Thank you for the help. Idk why but my airbag panel piece absolutely refuses to be removed.

Edit: Going to decide against installing. Causing scratches/damage to front of HVAC controls prying with all of my strength on airbag panel.

If you have some painter's tape, put a few layers on the HVAC face before trying to pull the airbag panel. Helps a lot to prevent the HVAC face from getting torn up. You have to pull it a little bit down and otherwise straight out, it helps to use a trim tool as leverage. Just when you think it's about to break into pieces, the two big clips should pop out, just be careful you don't rip off the connector for the light.

The airbag panel is the hardest part (literally took me 30+ minutes the first time I had to take it off), everything else is fairly easy. Boomba's instructions aren't that good because they don't tell you where any of the trim clips are, or how to remove tough pieces like the airbag panel.

If all you're trying to replace is the bushings, I'd just wait till you install a short shifter or something. The cable bracket bushings and the cable end bushing make a much more significant difference and are a lot less of a headache to get to.

I have the 2 clips down, but the big clips I'm pulling straight out for as hard as possible until my grip fails and it doesn't budge lol. Crazy for such a small piece.
