2013 pre TSB RMM

Anyone have a pre TSB mount they can part with? My local dealer isn't too cooperative about doing the TSB and I want them to do it. Putting a stock RMM back will easily allow them to duplicate the problem.

Confused also. If it has an aftermarket why do the TSB? If it's stock & doesn't get the bang why do the TSB? If it's missing, then that's a whole different ballgame!

^ Ah, that would make sense. Someone that has upgraded to an aftermarket maybe able to help then.

I don't think it's unreasonable to have an aftermarket RMM and still want to be eligible for the TSB.

Ford has acknowledged through the TSB that a problem exists, and the fact that an owner was unhappy with the RMM and replaced it prior to Ford ackonwledging the problem, shouldn't 'disqualify' you for the TSB.

If I had replaced the RMM on my own dime, I would just explain that to the dealer and if it was a problem for them to perform the TSB, have them go to the regional guy for approval.

I don't think there is anything unreasonable about having an a/m RMM and getting the TSB performed.
You fixed a problem Ford refused to fix, and Ford's subsequent TSB shows that you, the customer, was right and in no way should be penalized for Ford's 'late admission'.

Like anything else, being reasonable and discussing it like a human, not an animal, should resolve any issues.
If a dealer gave me a problem, I would keep going up the ladder til I got satisfaction.

edit: This is also why I let my dealer change my oil. They get to know you, you're not just showing up to b**tch and moan.
It's much harder for them to treat you like a # if you know them and have a '2-way conversation'.

Oddly enough, my dealer installed the E-focus RMM for me under warranty about 2 weeks before the TSB...

My parts are on order, but the E-focus RMM helped nicely so I'm not in a rush.
I told my dealer to do someone else first!

Also, the 'story' I was given by someone I sort of trust, is that dealership has not seen any other ST's for the TSB, and therefore it's kind of in the background.
He says that when it affects 100's and 1000's, they get more attention!

This is indeed the dealer I bought the car from. I spoke with the CS person and explained that I already spent some of my money fixing part of the problem but would like Ford to do the rest. I was then grilled about working on a new car that had and asked why I didn't bring it in instead of doing it myself. The conversation didn't seem to go anywhere and I was told that unless they could duplicate the issue they weren't going to do the TSB. That's why I need to return it to stock.

I hope this was in person, not on the phone.

Has any dealer performed any service on your vehicle?

After you were refused, you simply had to ask for the service manager or the general manager.
No big deal, you feel they aren't acting in your best interest, and you would like satisfaction with your significant investment.
Then his boss.
Don't raise your voice.
Worst case, it takes a call to the regional manager for authorization.
Not complex, unless you are burning your bridges or trying to do this on the phone.

Does the dealer hate you for some reason?
Is there another Ford dealer in your region?
Have you spoken to your salesman?
The Service manager?
The General Manager?
Your Mom?

Do you deserve to be treated this way or are you going to stand up for yourself in a constructive manner and pursue it til you have satisfaction?
You aren't going to get it fixed on this board, it's virtual.

The conversation didn't go anywhere because you were talking to someone who didn't care.
Don't waste another minute with this person, ask for his manager.

edit: You can't tell them to perform 'part' of the TSB, they have to perform the whole thing. That may be your problem, you were going to tell them what to do, how to do it, and that you wanted sweet potatoe fries instead......

Your problem has been identified.

I'd find another dealer because I heard tell of someone getting reimbursed for the e focus mount that the had bought. if they wont work with you and atleast do the tranny mount and cable or line adjustment part of the tsb that's just them being unreasonable

guys - these dealers who keep telling you they need to replicate the issue aren't pushing because they have nothing better to do.
For any Warrany / TSB work, the dealership gets reimbursed by the manufacture - AFTER the work is done.

From time to time, the manufacturer will come in and audit all warranty / TSB records for followed procedures as specified by the manufacturer (in addition to weather or not it was a legitimate claim)
Anything the manufacturer digs up that does not meet the specific procedures as outlined by the manufacture will be tagged for 'no payment', and the dealer is the one left paying for the work.

i was a software engineer for Reynolds & Reynolds dealer management systems for 8 years - there is a LOT of work put into dealership management ERPs to ensure dealer audits are passed with flying colors to ensure they get paid.
Now, side note, YMMV.
For those dealers that choose to go around or make an exception, that is their decision and they assume the risk of potential non-payment, and this DOES happen. Many dealerships are willing to take on the risk of a few hundred dollar
warranty/TSB for their best customers if they feel they need to.

I'm just saying, don't shoot the messenger ;-)

Not to beat a dead horse, but perhaps you could give us the exciting story behind why you no longer have the original RMM?
