It is absolutely necessary to remove the front bumper to do this?
Is it possible to remove the plastic that is over the radiator area and snake it in that way?

Unclip the plastic and lift up. You can fully remove it but this should give you enough room to work.

Then again, you could always buy an aftermarket FMIC which gives you a good reason to remove the full bumper :wink: :wink:

^ yeah but I think the risk of messing up the paint is higher than if you can fit the snorkel without bumper cover removal.

take your time, and exert additional care, and you shouldn't have a problem damaging the paint,

I feel it's debatable, just like the whole "airbox lid on or off for more power". There's threads all over the place with data of both (cause everyone on this forum loves proof).

Some people just buy them cause it add's an extra line to their "mod list".

I did notice that intake air temps were cooler. However most will argue that the turbo heats the air up too much. There is also something about the pressure difference.
