  1. Quaife ATB and TVC: Mystery solved

    Focus ST Performance
Do you happen to know if the user of the Quaife LSD actually experienced cooler running brakes on track after installing the LSD?
  2. Experience with a Quaife LSD for Focus ST?

    Focus ST Performance
I'm looking to hear the experience of anyone who has installed a Quaife LSD in their Focus ST. I can understand the potential benefits in terms of maintaining traction and limiting wheel spin, but does it work well with the ST's brake-driven torque vectoring? For anyone who drives on track...
  3. Poor brake performance on track

    Focus ST Maintenance
Assuming the excessive heat buildup is largely due to the brake vectoring while accelerating through turns, I was also wondering if a Quaife LSD would go a long way in mitigating the root cause of this. No one mentioned that, but does anyone have experience/thoughts on that?
  4. Poor brake performance on track

    Focus ST Maintenance
I had just flushed/bled my system the day before, so it was full of fresh RBF600 on track day. I've also wondered if a high-carbon, cryo-treated rotor e.g. the slotted version from StopTech would make a difference.
  5. Poor brake performance on track

    Focus ST Maintenance
Dear fellow FoST-ers, I run with Hawk DTC-60 racing pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, stainless lines in front. After (2) 20-minute sessions on track, my brake pedal still softens and braking power is clearly reduced. I also observed that over time there is a non-smooth/reddish smear on about...
  6. Brake upgrade suitable for track use

    Focus ST Brakes
Good feedback from everyone. Would anyone happen to know if Stoptech's big brake kit for the Focus ST (83.342.4600.xx, 332 X 32 mm rotors, ST-40 calipers) would fit inside the ST's optional OEM 18" machined aluminum wheels? I have a fitment diagram for the Stoptechs but figure someone here...
  7. Brake upgrade suitable for track use

    Focus ST Brakes
I am moderately experienced on the track. Since DOT4 comes factory in the ST (I have a 2018), it sounds easy to try some high perf pads. Perhaps the Hawk HPS Plus is one that can double on both street and track. Thanks for the ideas.
  8. Brake upgrade suitable for track use

    Focus ST Brakes
Thank you for commenting. How would you describe their performance on the track?
  9. Brake upgrade suitable for track use

    Focus ST Brakes
Focus ST brakes seem to be well known to get very hot (largely due to brake-driven torque vectoring?) during use on the track, causing heat-induced brake fade, loss of brake pressure due to brake fluid overheat and gas in lines, and even destruction of the OEM brake pads. Whether brake pads...
