Also, going with the g25 means EWG. Just how loud is this setup? Can you still stealth around on no to low boost? Excuse the ignorance. This is my first turbo car.
My EWG only really opens when you are going WOT and hitting full boost. Outside of that, it doesnt really open or add any more noise. Its glorious when it does though. you can make your exhaust as quiet as you like for daily driving/off boost but then still get some fun noises when going wide open.

You can always add a EWG to your setup, weld vband in and add EWG on your manifold elbow:

What all is actually needed to run the g25 kit? I know we will need a new BOV of some sort, and an external wastegate, is there anything else needed to run the g25-550 kit?

outside of the typical stage 3 mods most people have when they go big turbo; i would add some hard charge pipes, weld in your BOV to that.

You don't need hard pipes, just use the OEM hard pipe on the car. I don't know why you guys (and gals) like to spend more money than you need too for maybe 75-100 hp over stock and only 50 or so over so-called Stage 3/FBO.

Factory pipes offer no restriction up to 500+ hp.

So for a 350-400hp build what turbo/ mods other then an intercooler and downpipe would you recommend?

WRX big turbo kit (with downpipe), Accessport + tune, intercooler, cooler plugs, intake + WMI. You might want a catback exhaust too.... and the RMM. Have two tunes...one on pump, the other when you want bragging numbers with WMI or E30.

That's all you need. That said, somebody put a GTX2867 on their stock ST (including intercooler) and made 330 on the dyno (93 octane). Output went up to 350 hp with the addition of a cat-back exhaust, no change to the tune or boost level.

If that's all you want; Weld a BOV to the stock hot pipe and be done with it. Don't make such a small increase in power complicated. The smallest upgraded will make 400+ hp on the stock fuel system.

You will need water-methanol or run race gas.
