Honestly couldn't tell you. I want to say 1/4" but I don't think it's even that thick. It's not even thick enough for the o ring to seal because it just goes straight through. That's why we had to use silicone to seal the map sensor. A better alternative would be to use the ATP elbow with the map bung already welded on.

One thing I had a question on is that you said you used scrap metal to make some bottom brackets. What does one do if they aren't good with welding or have scrap metal laying around?

You don't need to weld anything. You can just go buy a piece or see if a hardware store or welding shop has some scrap 1" flat stock. You'll need about a foot of it.

The stuff I used was about 1/8" thick. Cut it to about an inch longer than the gap from the cooler to rad support, drill the holes where you need them, paint the steel and then install it.

Would like to bump this thread, just switched jobs and haven't had time to do this yet, but wanted others to still be able to see it.

I just order the 29x9x3 but I had no idea that the 30x10x3 fit our cars. I would think that the extra 1 sq inch would help... albeit not much but something...

Should I just stick with the 29x9x3?

    edit: 39 sq inches

I was just back reading through the posts and according to what @FostMadness was saying regarding his temps, his intercooler seems to be working about the same as mine with the exception that just by reading his post. His cools faster after a pull than mine does. And I have the 29x9x3

That was also before i knew the 15's were 20* over ambient to begin with. I get about a 20-25* rise on a 4th gear pull.

Edit: yes it cools back down by the time i slow back down to the speed limit pretty much.

Ive done research and ive heard that the godspeed cores arent very good. Just because its a big intercooler doesnt mean its gonna do a good job. but props for giving it a shot.

I not saying one way or another, just saying it's an easy DIY project. If want a complete kit I'd go with the Depo, Panda, or levels kits before dropping big bucks on something that performs the same.
