I was wondering about this myself. I just had my car at the dealership for a key fob programming and asked about the recall. The service manager told me that Ford will have it available sometime during the third quarter this year, so any time over the next 3 months.

Yeah, we are getting screwed here. And I found out about the recall the hard way, stalled on the freeway. Now I have to be extra careful with the gas tank. It's annoying to have to refuel every 150 miles. Almost want to invoke lemon law or something.

Just replace the valve! It's $50 and takes 15 minutes—not even worth going to the dealer for free. No software change, I replaced mine and it's been fine for about 35k miles.

How do the MPG numbers compare vs. a regular Focus? Would driving a manual help or hurt MPG?

Was done quite a while ago. They reflashed the software (did not have to replace the valve or the fuel tank). Many people on here have had it done already too (I believe there is a forum thread on that specifically).

Well, I had a 2012 Focus SE with 5-speed manual before the ST and clearly that was a much more economical car. It's pretty much impossible to approach 30 mpg average on the highway with the ST. My average overall seems to sit around 23-24 for a tank and that's fairly non aggressive driving in a mix of highway and city.

ST highway economy greatly depends on whether you have hills/mountains to negotiate and the speed. Fuel economy suffers a bit at 65 mph and suffers greatly at 70+ mph compared to 55-60 mph. There's some wiggle room depending on tires, but the wind resistance due to speed is much more significant.

Thanks for the report. I'm at 90K in my '16 and will hitting the 100 mark before the end of the summer.

It's bone stock, no mods, other than a Green filter.

Would you say it's been more or less reliable than mine ?

I've had few issues. Still on the original brake pads, though I've bought replacements (OEM).
Other than wear and tear (3rd set of tires, now on Conti Extreme Contact, 3 windshields and a second battery) it's been trouble free. I'm noticing the rubber weatherstripping is showing it's age, and an odd cracking in the black glass areas around the door glass, all the way around. I do all the maintenance, it's never been back to the dealer. I drove it out of the showroom with 6 miles on it.

I use the moonroof a lot, and even though I've tried to keep the tracks clean and lubricated, I'm hearing noises that make me think it's about to break, so I've stopped using it before I'm looking at an expensive repair.

It's my DD, 100 miles a day, mostly interstate. That's where the troubles happen. I hit a giant chunk of 18-wheeler retread last month, $2300.00 in damage. They replaced the front bumper cover which was a good thing, as it was getting sandblasted. Been run off into the median grass 3 times, once by a tour bus, then an 18-wheeler, and most recently, an SUV. I've been calm each time until that last one. I gotta admit, I got a little animated that time.
