I really don't think 40 offset wheels are going to work on this car. I have 45 ET rims on mine and they are on the edge of looking wrong. I think 40 ET would look really strange and possibly give you rubbing issues.

I was basing the et 40 off a conversation I had with Chalon at Perfect Circle Autosport. He indicated that an 18" wheel with a 40mm offset, the wheel would set just inside the lip of the fender, with the tire sitting virtually flush. He sent me a pic of a Focus with an 18" Pro Race 1.2 with a 40mm offset and it didn't appear that the wheels stuck out or appear that rubbing would be an issue. That being said, if I wind up spec ordering a set, I will most likely err on the side of caution and go with a 45.
My local Discount Tire is having one BBS CF(Anthracite) shipped in this week for me to view in person and set it on the car to get an idea of the offset(CF is only available in our bolt pattern with a 40 offset). Thanks for the heads up regardless.

Just tossing this out there since the first full wheel pic was made available this week. While a poor phone pic, this is the Pro Race 1.2 Spec 390. The Spec 390, a Perfect Circle Autosport exclusive, removes the lettering on the rim. The lettering, for some, is a sticking point.
As you can see, the result is very clean.
One other observation, upgrading shipping to air freight will cut 4-5 weeks off of the eta. Considering the prices of the other wheels listed, you would still come out less than a set of the heavier BBS CF.

How much clearance does the factory offset/width provide on the INSIDE?
I'm going for a set of 17x9's for my race wheel/tire setup, and I want to stay as close to factory offset as possible.
Is there any room inside there for some extra width, or do I need to move outward for a wider wheel?

What's causing the clearance issue??
