GoPro Hero2 DO NOT UPDATE!

I got the GoPro Hero2 with my ST3 purchase. So I download their CineForm software to edit my videos. Well it says there is a device (firmware) update. So I do it. HUGE MISTAKE. Now the camera is basically useless. It's not a total brick, it turn on and I can almost get it to downgrade, then it freezes after 5-8 seconds.

The version on the camera was .70, the new update is .222. Whatever you do stay with the original until the bugs are worked out. If you do a search for GoPro Hero2 222 freeze you will see thousand of posts on the subject.

I have sent in a ticket to their support line, but from what I have heard it's not very good.

Reformat the SD card in the camera. Worked for my Hero2 with the latest firmware!

I have tried 3 different cards. Not only that, but took me at least 100 times to get to the format screen before it would freeze. After that it freezes during the firmware upgrade. I even tried to downgrade. No luck. May have to submit for replacement.

bout to buy one of these as a security camera while I'm at work collect those people who bang into your car lol

I finally had to send it back for an RMA. Should have it back in a few days.
