LOL, well my theory is I bought this car to drive it. It's gonna get scratched up eventually, why delay the inevitable. (although I actually came out of this completely unscathed from what I could tell after giving it a bath and wax on sunday)

And DIrt and dust I can deal with. Yeah, goes everywhere, but easy to get out. Mud on the other hand, that sucks to clean.

I'll be cleaning mud out from underneath that car for years.

I agree with you on the scratches. It sucks, but it's inevitable. I already have a couple of scratches in the clear coat on mine, and some nice rock chips in the front.

    Car looks best when dirty!

That tells you it's been driven hard by an enthusiast.

If only being dirty didn't make the hood gap stand out so much. I gotta figure out a way to fix that.

Great to see an ST hitting the dirt. I just got mine out to a rallycross last weekend. No action shots to show (yet) unfortunately, but I too was impressed at how well it handled it, even in the badly rutted sections and deep, soft sand we have here in Florida. I've got an XR4TI that I try to use to do that sorta thing usually, but I completely share your view on the inevitability of wear and tear on the car, so why not just drive it. So the ST got dirty and it was a ton of fun!

That was actually my first response too... "WHAT did they DO!?! Poor car!" Haha, my car is my baby. Can't help but keep her spotless.

I think I like this better than detailing threads
It's harder to keep a black car clean
And what you did looks more fun than polishing
