Steeda lower mount + TurboTech upper installed... early impressions

Ok, so I installed the Steeda lower mount with the 70d bushings and the TurboTech upper mount.
I figured vibration wouldn't be too bad because the 70d was for daily drivers not looking to sacrifice drivability according to Steeda, and TurboTech claimed that anybody running their upper mount didn't notice any difference when adding it to their already lower mount setup. Some cases claimed it helped reduce vibrations by adding the 2nd mount.

Well, when I fired up the car it shook so bad it almost left a 1 wheel peel in my boxers. (almost crapped myself)
At low rpm's it is really bad, and from a stop as I start to let off the clutch and accelerate it feels like the wheel is going to shake out of my hands.

I will wait to see how it breaks in, but this is way more than I could of imagined. It went from feeling like an absolute joy to drive, to vibrating more and being louder than my Mustang was, and it had a blower, full length headers, exhaust and no cats.

I want a smooth daily driver. This feels like a race car now... and other than the mounts the car is bone stock.

Not to mention the fact that when I pack 2nd gear I still get the thump.

My assumption at this point is that the TT upper mount is creating the vibration.
Don't be surprised if you see a used one for sale on the forum soon. I can't deal with vibrations like that when it doesn't even eliminate the problem.

I'd like to hear your thoughts guys. Chances are I will remove the upper and keep the Steeda. Hopefully it will bring the vibration back to an acceptable level.

Right now under throttle the car doesn't even sound the same. I can't even tell when the sound symposer kicks in.
I feel like I'm on a rant now, but I just couldn't believe that my car feels like a completely different vehicle and still didn't eliminate the problem.

Thanks for the review. I was considering the purchasing the lower and upper at the same time. Just waiting for this exact thread to be started. Looks like I'm sticking to the lower.

Yeah I just installed the Steeda RMM with the 79A bushings, and have absolutely no added vibration, other than leaving from first gear from a stop. It's definitely the TTR mount that's doing it.

The TTR upper does cause vibration; I am running the TTR upper and E-Focus lower and get a little vibration around 1500 rpm. If you use a stiff lower with the TTR upper you will get lots of vibs. The TTR upper really cuts down the wheel hop though .

Wheel hop seems to be a non-issue. But at this point I feel like I'd rather sacrifice some performance for drivability.
I will allow it to break in a bit... but I don't see myself keeping it on. I can hear plastic vibrating all throughout my interior and the dash sounds like it's coming apart. Plus the steering wheel vibration.

From a stop the vibration goes throughout the entire car... it doesn't seem to go away until around 2500rpm... and even beyond that the car runs rougher.

Let it break in, then see how it is. If it's still too much, I'd recommend removal of the TTR mount, and then swapping in the 79A bushings (one red / one black) into the Steeda RMM.

I agree, we have had the Cobb lower, and the TTR lower (on local cars), and the upper does not add any vibs with over the lower mount, just stops wheel hop so much better.

I can't really see how all the vibes can be blamed on the 70A Steeda RMM, when I have the 79A Steeda RMM, with a borderline undetectable increase in vibes....

In any case, adding poly mounts will add vibes; that's to be expected.

Try swapping bushings in and out, and try a combo of stock mounts with those various durometer bushings you test.
