It really helped wheel hop and the car feels much more planted. But I don't see how someone could accept these vibrations. When I take off from a stop it sounds like I'm sitting in a 1997 Cavalier with a trunk full of subs, volume cranked and every panel rattling and falling apart.

A buddy of mine at work had an old Civic (1990?) and it had an Energy Suspension HyperFlex kit in it and I told him to start it up and rev the engine a bit. The look on his face said it all.

I'd be embarrassed if someone was in my car today.

Just to be clear, this is a question for anybody with the Steeda mount.

The red bushings are 70 and blacks are 88 correct?

I have the red ones installed. I was almost thinking I had the wrong bushings in, but Steeda told me the red ones are 70.

Whatever you do, don't buy a driver side mount when they come out. The driver mount on my 06 rattled the cabin so damn bad; it was better stock driver, poly passenger and rear.

Yes the red set is 70A, the black is 88A, half/half is 79A.

Well he said the upper causes vibes and you said it doesn't. Are you sure you're with him?

How bad is it leaving from 1st with the 79 and how is it when you start the car and at idle?

When I start the car it's scary and at idled I feel it a bit in the steering wheel, seat and floor/pedals. Rev it a bit and it's really bad. Feel it and hear everything rattle and then as I drive from a stop in 1st it's like my car is going to fall apart.

I agree with you... If the Steeda mount doesn't do this alone, then how could it not be the upper?

If someone asked me if using these mounts eliminated wheel hop, I would say yes.
If someone asked if it eliminated the thump, I would say no. Still hits every time I pack 2nd gear.
Of someone asked about vibrations, I think you know what I would say.

As soon as I started up the car I wanted them out, as soon as I started to drive I really wanted them out... Then when I tried shifting 2nd and I heard and felt the thump (the reason I installed them in the 1st place) I got mad and really wanted it them out.

If I can improve the situation without the vibrations, I can live with that... But to make it feel like I'm running a solid mount and not eliminate the problem. That I can't accept.

I think you have the right idea. Steeda lower, help with the problem and keep the vibrations acceptable.

The idle is almost the same as stock. Leaving 1st from a stop, there is minor vibration, but it is gone within ~750 rpms after you leave first... nothing bad at all. You really can barely tell it's there, other than the fact the engine clunk is gone. I see little to no need for the TTR mount, but let me be clear that that is a subjective opinion of mine.

I heavily suggest that you try removing the TTR mount and swapping in the 79A bushings on the Steeda RMM. Just give it a try.

The vibes will settle down. Give it time. I have the TTR upper mount and CP-E RMM installed and initially the vibes were bad (worse than I thought) but they have calmed a lot over time. Idling, I hardly notice the vibes. With the a/c on the vibes are there but not so bad. The only time it gets real bad is if I'm in a high gear (5 or 6) and I put my foot flat to the floor it will vibrate a lot. So just change down a gear. You do have to drive a bit differently than with the stock mounts.

Here's my 2 cents. I can see changing the lower mount. It is truly a weak link in the car, no doubt. As for the rest, I don't think so FOR STREET USE. If you truly needed all the mounts then you are using the car for something other than a daily mode of conveyance and the vibrations wouldn’t be an issue. I only have 3300 miles on my car. I have gotten on it a few times, but did it without gear banging, spinning tires or anything else that would induce knocks, thuds or any other adjective you would use to describe the feeling/noise. I got the knock/thud one time and that was when I took off from a stop sign, the white line was wet and the tires spun until it hit dry pavement on the other side of the white line. Other than that, I have not had any issues with the factory equipment. Drive it like you respect it, feel the torque pull you through the gears, change gears without the dire need of breaking traction and you’ll save parts, money and time.

Well, maybe that was 3 cents..
