An 8.5", 48 mm offset wheel will be about the same inside position as stock (+1 mm) and will extend 13 mm further toward the fender than stock.

A 9", 42 mm offset would be the same inside position and extend 26 mm toward the fender.

I realize the offsets necessary to maintain factory or close to factory inner clearance. Looking at this picture, there really isn't much more room to move outwards... Especially not another .5".

To fit a 9" wheel, it will have to move inwards as much as possible from factory specs. That's why I'm trying to find an inner clearance measurement with stock-ish offset.

I don't whether there is space on the inside, but are there even any good options in a 9" wide 53-55 mm offset 5x108 wheel?

You're right. I just checked and Team Dynamics doesn't offer anything past a 45et on a 9" wheel. We'll have to go with a company like SSR or CCW or another high end company.
I was really hoping a 9" wheel would fit on this chassis easily.... guess not.

Yeah I don't think you're going to find the inside clearance you'd need to make it work.

Actually I was wrong. Team Dynamics offers the PR1.2 in a 17x9 et53.
As long as there's enough inner clearance... which I think there is seeing as how Unleashed Tuning fit 255's on the stock wheels with no issues.
I'll do some measuring when my car gets here so we all know what will work
