Anyone know how to stop the honking when you take the key?

I nearly read the whole owner's manual last night before I gave up.

Does anyone here know how to get the car to stop honking the horn when it's running and I step outside the car with the key in my pocket? My Titanium only flashed a message on the instrument panel that the key was missing. The ST honks twice at me, which is irritating. Is there a way to turn that off?

Most people have it honk but one person has reported that it does not honk. Right now there isn't a definite way to turn it on or off.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure my neighbors hate me by now. I'm headed to the Ford dealer after work anyway, so I'll see if they have a way to make it shut up.

One thing that I have found you can do is to not shut the door completely. If I leave it barely cracked it will not honk for me.

Mine has never honked when I walk away, I just get a weird chime.

Mine has never honked either. my wife says it beeps when I get out with the key still in my pocket.

Way too unsofitikated........run power to horn though switch that tells driver to put on seat belt!
