    Stealth's 2.3 Build

@Stealth asked for a 2.3 and here we go. I had the motor from my wrecked ST and we decided to build it. So the specs are 2.3, extrude honed head, Crower valve springs. keyed crank, pinned cams and bored TB. He's running a GTX2971 on his stock block now. Parts are ordered and on the way. Here's the tear down. @BlackT5 @TuxedST @tmcphail @djfourmoney

Motor took about four hrs to tear down. Block looks good with no damage. My main bearings showed some wear and the carbon buildup on pistons and injectors is horrible. The motor had 50000 miles on it

Awesome. Put the FRPP individual ported head on it.

    Sent from another garage.

Some interesting info on the 2.0 and 2.3 ecoboost I found while researching the stroker build. We know the 2.3 is open deck and apparently it has a shorter deck. So in theory the 2.0 block is stronger. The pistons from the 2.3 and 2.0 have the same compression height but the 2.3 uses a 5.875" rod the 2.0 is 6.136". So in other words if you take the 2.3 assembly and install it in the block it wont work. The piston will be too far in the hole at TDC. We wanted to use available parts and not make custom pistons so a rod had to be found that would be the correct length for the extra stroke and have the piston at the right height in the hole for quench and to keep compression in check. They are available and I'll get into that later when we assemble. I will tell you they come from a close cousin to the ecoboost. When done the motor will have a compression ratio of about 9.7:1 and will be a longer rod stroker.

We thought about it but he has a custom JDL turbo kit so that would add to the cost

True but it'll will make enough power and the cost will be really low. The motor with parts, balance, head work and honing will cost about $2500
